Boardwalk Hike at Maumee Bay State Park

Lace up your walking shoes and join us for a relaxing morning in one of Northwest Ohio’s most beautiful natural settings! We’ll be exploring the Maumee Bay Boardwalk — a scenic 1.8-mile trail that winds through a stunning wet prairie landscape right here in our own backyard.

This recently renovated trail offers a smooth, accessible path so you can take in the surroundings at your own pace and soak up everything nature has to offer. Keep your eyes open — wildlife sightings are practically guaranteed! From industrious muskrats and soaring bald eagles to darting dragonflies, migratory and shorebirds, and a fascinating variety of reptile species, there’s always something worth stopping to admire.

Whether you’re an avid nature lover or simply looking for a peaceful way to spend a Tuesday morning with good company, this hike is the perfect opportunity to unplug, breathe in some fresh air, and reconnect with the natural beauty of the Lake Erie shoreline.
